FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Kiritsubo is a slim northern beauty with long legs and long hair so white it almost looks pale blue in some lights. She is 165cm (5'5") tall, and her official profile lists her bust size as an "unrestrained G cup". Her eyes are pitch black, and are described as absorbing all light and reflecting back nothing, "capable only of seeing the truth". She is easily identifiable by her traditional irezumi tattoos: she has a turtle on her right upper arm, a crane on her left upper arm, honeycomb pattern spilling from her left shoulder down to her breast, a large hornet on the honeycomb on her inner breast, a peony seal on her womb lower stomach, a Sanskrit character just above her mons pubis, a peony and sword on her back, and a symbol representing the Nine Heavenly Bodies on her lower back.

She usually dresses in a short, modified kimono with a lace-lined underlayer, worn open to bare most of her breasts and her hornet tattoo. She pairs it with knee-high, leather heeled boots and a fluffy white fur stole pinned with a skull-shaped brooch. She has a nose piercing in her left nostril with a small crystal stud and several piercings on her ears. From her obi belt dangles a few pouches that contain her tattooing tools, her crystal ball, and her tobacco kit. Kiritsubo is almost always seen with a long kiseru pipe in her manicured hands, idly smoking something fragrant.

... However, that's Kiritsubo's "true" form. Her human form, anyway. Her actual true form is a white tanuki. And she often uses her shapeshifting powers to present herself as completely different looking people, so there is no guarantee you will meet her looking as described above. SHARD

Kiritsubo's shard is a small, polished sphere of blue crystal embedded in her tongue. Unless someone looks closely, it is very easy to consider her other piercings and tattoos and make the assumption that it is simply an expensive barbell piercing.

ASPECT TATTOO

Since coming to Kenos, Kiritsubo's extensive ink work has been complimented with the addition of the Exalt tattoo on the back of her neck, above the large peony and sword design that takes up much of her back. The Exalt symbol sits just above the hilt of the blade.

PERSONALITY & BACKGROUND

Kiritsubo is an ancient tanuki living in the modern era, in an alternate version of Earth where the demon world exists alongside and mostly hidden from the world of humans. She is known to spirits as "Kiritsubo the Wandering Tattoo Artist", and her work is considered the absolute best for both beauty and magical strength, which leads her to be in constant demand. Not that she lets demand dictate whether she actually shows up when called upon. She is a whimsical, hedonistic wanderer who travels the world following idle curiosities, new skills to hone, and fleeting pleasures, tattooing and telling fortunes as she pleases along the way and dabbling with spirit and human-kind alike. She appears completely unbound to conventions like loyalty (having been known to tattoo both sides of the conflict currently engulfing the demon world), duty (only appearing when she likes or views it as necessary for her own goals), identity (often using her shapeshifting abilities to appear as wildly different personas), or monogamy (a consummate "carnivore" who freely sates a tanuk's notoriously high libido regardless of relationships between her numerous lovers).

Beneath it all, though, Kiritsubo has been secretly working towards a single goal for the last 500 years: waiting for her former lover, the oni Kiyoami, to manifest in one of his descendants. Though she was devotedly in love with the man, oni are simply not the type, and he ended up beheaded by a powerful exorcist after impregnating said exorcist's wife with a child that killed her being born. Since then, she had been manipulating events behind the scenes and preparing for his arrival, all for the goal of freeing his soul from needing to possess a descendant's body and have him reborn properly as his own man. It doesn't even matter to her if he does not love her... She simply desires to see him, unbound and free, roaming the world again. With her goal now mostly achieved... she is content enough to move on from their world and wander into an entirely new one. Why not? After all, you live a couple hundred years and you start looking forward to something shocking.

ABILITIES & SKILLS

YOUKAI CONSTITUTION

As a youkai, Kiritsubo is practically immortal unless violently killed, and has already lived nearly a thousand years. Despite how slim she looks, she is capable of great speeds and feats of strength, though she is not quite on the level of more martial-focused youkai. It is said that, though she was not capable of defeating them, she was able to hold her own against the legendary Four Generals (an oni, kitsune, wolf, and tengu considered the strongest of youkai-kind in the medieval period). If poisoned, it will not really affect her unless designed for the supernatural, and if injured, she will heal faster than a human. That said, she tends to avoid direct combat when possible, not having a particular appetite for it.

SHAPESHIFTER

As Kiritsubo often brags, "if a kitsune has seven transformations, a tanuki has eight". She belongs to the youkai race most skilled at changing their shape, and she has so many dedicated alternate forms established in her canon that when several Zone-00 characters compare stories of "Kiritsubo the Wandering Tattoo Artist", every single one of them describes the Kiritsubo that tattooed them as a completely different person, ranging from young maidens and macho men to androgynous boys and elderly women. She can hold her transformations through pain, emotional turmoil, and even sex. ... Especially sex.

FORTUNETELLING

Kiritsubo has been described as having "eyes so dark they can see only the truth". She has a certain sense for lies vs. truth and the spiritual bonds between people and upcoming events, but she has very clearly stated that she is not a prophet, only a diviner. She cannot tell for certain exactly what will happen in the future, she can only see hints of what is to come and interpret them. She has mentioned dabbling in different methods of expressing that ability throughout the centuries, including bone-throwing, dice, reading palms, tarot, and astrology, but she seems to prefer a good ol' crystal ball. In her eyes, these hints that she uses to divine the future usually manifest in a sort of aura or imagery-rich way, such as a black thread connecting two destined soon to die together, or a sense of shackles on someone having relationship problems, etc.

MAGICAL TATTOOS

Kiritsubo is known throughout the world of demons for her ink work, and she has done tattoos on the majority of the ZONE-00 cast, regardless of affiliation or alliances. This is not just because her tattoos are beautiful, but because she can imbue them with seals, passive power-ups, and latent protections. Some canon examples of what her more practical tattoos can do include: sealing and unsealing demonic spirits that possess another's body, restoring a lost voice, restoring movement to a damaged limb, and spreading across the body to form a "shield" to repel blades. She describes using her divining eyes for her tattoo work as "reading the karma" on someone's skin, and she will only tattoo things on a person that she can see as related somehow to their nature, past, or sins/virtues. No requests, only omakase.

SEALING WOMB

... So tanuki are known for their stretchy and transforming genitalia, right. And usually this is males, with their testicles, right. Well, uh. Kiritsubo's seems to be... her womb, where she's apparently capable of sealing someone's spirit and "storing them" until she's ready. This will not be super relevant in Kenos because her womb is already "occupied" as of her canon point, having sealed her lost love in there to preserve his spirit until he is ready to be reborn again. Yeah, it's weird. No, don't worry about, she won't want to put anyone else in there, she's just keeping that oni there until he's ready to be reborn.

Writing Style: I do brackets but I don't mind other formats.

Backtagging: Alright, within reason. If there's a lack of communication about delays in tagging and the thread isn't development-heavy or plot-related I may drop it if it drags on for too long or if tags start coming with large gaps in between. IN CHARACTER

Physical Violence: Kiritsubo is not someone who seeks out fights, she'd prefer to slip away without things coming to blows. But if need be, she's willing to defend herself and I'm willing to thread it.

Death/Dissipation: I'd like to avoid it this early to her introduction to the game.

Physical Affection: She will touch most anyone she's speaking to without disregard for personal boundaries, unless asked not to... and even then, she might not listen. She will touch especially more if she's targeted someone as a potential partner. If this is a problem OOCly please let me know!

Shipping/Sex: Kiritsubo is emotionally devoted to her ex-lover Kiyoami, but as a tanuki she has an insanely high sex drive, and she will be indulging that whenever she sees fit with one-night stands, friends with benefits, and a bevy of casual lovers. She doesn't care about monogamy herself, but if someone she's coming onto begs off because of love she will usually let them go, despite how carnivorous and aggressive she can be about her pursuits.
